I am a first-year PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign working on Natural Language Processing (NLP) with Professor Heng Ji. I am currently a student researcher at Google Research NYC.
I'm broadly interested in researching language technologies to build interactive (multimodal) language agents (e.g., virtual assistants, chatbots, robots) that are socially-aware, and able to assist humans across tasks and environments, including those deployed online or grounded in physical environments.
I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in computer science and data science, where I was fortunate to work with Professor David Jurgens, Daniel Romero, Rada Mihalcea, and Joyce Chai as a research assistant.
Previously, I was a research intern at the Data & AI team of Microsoft Cloud and AI Division last summer, where I build NLP models to improve the quality of generated unit test cases for C# by introducing test case initialization contexts. I was a natural language processing intern at Bytedance AI Lab and a software engineering intern at Tencent.
May 2023: Excited to share that I'll be joining Google Research NYC this summer as a student researcher!
December 2021: I'm pleased to receive honorable mention for the Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Awards!
October 2021: I'm honored to receive the EMNLP 2021 Student Travel Award! I will also be a Student Volunteer at EMNLP 2021, See y'all in Punta Cana!
August 2021: One paper is accepted to the Findings of EMNLP 2021 on building a gif-based dialog system! You can even install this bot to your Slack channel following
